My Mother Abandoned Me for Her New Family—Years Later She Knocked on My Door for One Thing

I was ten years old when my mother remarried and overnight I stopped being her child. She called it a fresh start—new husband, new house, and soon a new baby boy she cradled like the world had finally given her what she wanted. She barely glanced at it and gave it to him like a toy. “What would I need it for?” she said. “I already have everything I want.” Something inside me went quiet. That was the last time I tried. No more cards. No more visits. She moved away. Grandma became my home—the one who taught me to cook, to save, and to survive disappointment without becoming bitter.
