Actress Daveigh Chase, best known for voicing Lilo in Lilo & Stitch and her role in The Ring, has died at the age of 35. According to her boyfriend, she passed away after contracting meningitis and sepsis.

According to PageSix, Chase died on Tuesday. She battled meningitis and an infection in her blood, which caused her to suffer septic issues. Eventually, her body shut down, her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, said, per TMZ.

Chase had recently been hospitalized in Los Angeles. Born in Las Vegas on July 29, 1990, Chase became a household name already as a child. In 2002, she voiced the lovable Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, which made her a star.

The same year, Daveigh Chase also starred as the eerie character Samara Morgan in The Ring. The actress earned an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain for her performance.
